One Ocean Foundation renewed the celebration of World Oceans Day 2023 with the second edition of One Ocean Week Milano.

It was a week dedicated to the ocean with events, meetings, and educational workshops to explain the extraordinary value of marine ecosystems and the fundamental role each of us plays in protecting them, even from the cities.

The aim was to raise awareness on issues related to the sustainable blue economy and the protection of the ocean through the active involvement of citizens to improve knowledge of this natural heritage.

Exhibition "Preziosa più del diamante”

A photographic exhibition that narrates the consequences of human’s actions on the planet, from deforestation to the melting of glaciers and from the devastation caused by forest fires to the consequences that the lack of rain has had on the economic and social activities present along the banks of the river Po.

Curated by Erminio Annunzi, professor Istituto Italiano di Fotografia, IIF.

Exhibition “Liquid blue”

A solo exhibition that evokes the intense colors of the Baltic Sea, the main source of inspiration of the artist, and explores themes related to water and the sea such as marine pollution and the unscrupulous use of resources. The deep blue will invade the space where water will flow in a wave of creativity and innovation, like an infinite liquid in constant motion and transformation, metaphorically representing the human nature that ceaselessly seeks its purpose.

Presentation of the book “In alto mare” of Danilo Zagaria

"In alto mare" is a journey to discover the underwater world through a kaleidoscope collection of science and stories which, by explaining the interconnection between environments and species, helps understand what it means to act sustainably. The book presents a bibliography of essays and documentaries dedicated to the sea, its inhabitants, and the environmental problems of our present.

Special weekend “Inside the Sea”

Guided tours and educational workshops organized by the National Museum of Science and Technology to get excited on the bridge of a famous ocean liner, board an ancient caravel, listen to the stories of explorers and sailors, learn about Leonardo's studies on the water, discover treasures of the sea left on the beaches and swim through the ocean depths in virtual reality.
