ONE OCEAN YOUNG CHALLENGE
We believe in mobilizing young people for the future of our Planet Ocean and we also believe in multidisciplinarity, because to protect the sea we need to work like him: without barriers. For this reason, we have created a challenge where young people become protagonists of change, and where the different school disciplines become keys of reading and interpretation for the conservation of the sea.

The positioning of acoustic probes for acoustic monitoring in the Caprera Canyon has been completed.
Thanks to the support of the Nave Leonardo, the unit of the CMRE maritime research and experimentation center, and the crew of the navy, it was completed the positioning of the three “smart” 3D acoustic probes, capable of guaranteeing the collection of environmental data at high depths in a totally autonomous way. The listening activity will allow to obtain useful information to evaluate the presence and study the behavior of cetaceans in the Caprera Canyon.
The project was carried out in collaboration with three key scientific partners: CMRE; SEAME Sardinia and the DISUIT – University of the University of Insubria.

Know the ocean
The ocean means food, energy, water, employment and economic benefits for the inhabitants of countries, including those that do not border the sea. It is a barrier against climate change and the principle reference point for sustainable development. It covers 70% of the Earth’s surface, regulates climate and produces 50% of the oxygen that we breathe. The health of our oceans and seas is inextricably linked to the health of the planet, and all life on Earth.
