Francesco Marrai
A young Italian Olympic sailor, participated in the Rio Games on the Standard Laser: it's good to believe in young people.

Young Italian Olympian Francesco Marrai took part in the Rio Games in 2016, competing on the Standard Laser.

His ambition is to become a future coach of the national team and an active supporter of the community of young sailors to promote environmental principals. “I completely agree with the aims of the OOF Foundation. I am very proud to be able to contribute to the cause. I’ll do it the way I know how to do it, as a young man, creating as much awareness as I can around the problems that concern us so closely”.

“I believe that we young people are most acutely aware of this issue today. There is awareness and commitment to voluntary initiatives promoted by various associations such as the cleaning of beaches, forests and public areas. We participate in protest movements, we keep informed and we behave accordingly. After all, we are the future and we must fight to have a richer, cleaner and more liveable one”.

“Protecting the sea is important right now and will be for years to come. Everyone can and must contribute in their daily lives. Use less water, for example, and don’t ignore waste on the street or at sea. We can all do something!”
