5th edition
Interconnections between Ecosystems
The 2026 edition will take place in Milan from May 22 to 24 at the MuBA – Children’s Museum Milan, in the evocative setting of the Rotonda della Besana.
The theme of interconnections is an invitation to reflect on the impact of our actions: from consumption choices to lifestyles and production models, every gesture contributes to the overall balance of the planet. The program - featuring talks, workshops, educational moments, and experiential activities - is designed to engage a broad and diverse audience, offering practical tools to understand the challenges related to protecting marine ecosystems and the role each individual can play.
In this context, Milan confirms itself as the ideal place to foster awareness and drive change. A dynamic and international city, it represents a crossroads of people, ideas, and development models, demonstrating how even an urban environment can play a key role in protecting the ocean.
The workshops, created in collaboration between One Ocean Foundation and MuBA as part of the One Ocean Week, offer creative and sensory experiences for families with children of different ages. “Remida”, addressed at children from 12 months to 5 years and curated by REMIDA Milano, invites participants to freely explore industrial waste materials inspired by the sea, encouraging shared play and cognitive, motor, and creative development, while promoting reuse as an educational resource. “The Wonder Room” addresses children aged 6 to 11 and offers a path of observation and discovery of natural elements, especially marine ones, through the senses and tools such as the microscope, turning exploration into an ongoing experience of research and learning.
