One Ocean Foundation organised an interactive workshop at the Youth4Climate flagship event in Milan, bringing together young innovators and youth-led organisations working to advance ocean conservation and a sustainable Blue Economy.
Hosted at Palazzo Marino, headquarters of the Municipality of Milan, the event was part of Youth4Climate, a global initiative co-led by the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The programme supports young people in transforming climate ideas into concrete solutions through funding, capacity building, mentorship and international networking opportunities.
As part of the 2026 Call for Solutions, One Ocean Foundation contributed to the evaluation and selection of projects within the Oceans and Blue Economy thematic area. The initiative recognises and supports young innovators and youth-led organisations developing solutions to address ocean-related challenges.
During the Milan event, One Ocean Foundation met the winners selected under this thematic area, who are advancing projects focused on marine conservation, sustainable livelihoods and resilient coastal communities across different parts of the world.
The dedicated interactive workshop provided an opportunity to introduce the Foundation's mission and approach to ocean protection, share its vision for a sustainable and regenerative Blue Economy, and exchange knowledge and lessons learned from the implementation of marine conservation and restoration projects.
The meeting fostered dialogue between the Foundation and a new generation of changemakers, highlighting the importance of empowering young people, sharing expertise and building international collaborations to accelerate positive change for the ocean.
One Ocean Foundation wishes all Youth4Climate participants success as they continue their study tour in Italy and develop their projects, bringing innovative solutions and new opportunities for impact to their communities and countries.
