We are proud to announce that once again this year, One Ocean Foundation has been nominated for the prestigious Earthshot Prize, one of the most important global awards dedicated to innovative solutions for protecting the planet. Launched in 2020 by Prince William, the Earthshot Prize is one of the most ambitious international initiatives in the field of climate action and environmental protection. The prize was created with the aim of identifying, supporting, and growing concrete solutions that can address some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. Each year, the program selects 15 finalists from around the world and awards 5 winners, one for each of the five key categories—called “Earthshots”—that reflect the global goals for restoring the planet:
- Protect and Restore Nature
- Clean Our Air
- Revive Our Oceans
- Build a Waste-Free World
- Fix Our Climate
The winners receive £1 million each in funding to accelerate the impact and scale of their environmental solutions globally.
The 2026 edition in Mumbai
The sixth edition of the award will be held in November 2026 in Mumbai, India, marking the first time that the Earthshot Awards ceremony will take place in the country.
The choice of Mumbai reflects India's growing role in the global landscape of environmental innovation and climate action, as well as the strong presence of solutions and projects from the country in previous editions of the award.
As every year, the 2026 edition will showcase 15 innovative environmental solutions from around the world, with the aim of accelerating the transition to a sustainable future and promoting new collaborations between science, business, and civil society.

The nomination is an important recognition of the work that One Ocean Foundation carries out internationally to protect and restore marine ecosystems through scientific projects, conservation initiatives, and global collaborations. Being nominated again for the Earthshot Prize confirms the value of the Foundation's actions and reinforces the collective commitment to protecting the ocean and building a more sustainable future.
