The fourth edition of One Ocean Week wraps up in Milan
Four days of conferences, workshops, films, and events dedicated to the ocean

From May 22 to 25, 2025, Milan hosted the fourth edition of One Ocean Week, which concluded with great participation and success, engaging over 2000 people. Organized by One Ocean Foundation, the event strengthened the city’s role as a reference point for sustainability and the protection of marine ecosystems.

This year, One Ocean Week evolved into a true platform for the ocean, open to associations, NGOs, research institutions, and activists who shared their contributions and messages in support of ocean conservation.

The heart of the event was the Ocean Sphere, an evocative transparent dome set up in Piazza XXIV Maggio, which transformed the Darsena area into a lively meeting place between the public and the marine world. All activities took place in this symbolic location, making the experience even more immersive and accessible.

The program offered conferences, educational workshops, film screenings, and interactive activities—free and open to everyone. Among the prominent guests were actor and environmental advocate Giovanni Storti, and Andrea Morello, president of Sea Shepherd Italy, who emphasized the importance of ocean protection for the health of the Planet and humanity. Barbara Nappini, president of Slow Food Italy, and chef Chiara Pavan highlighted the connection between sustainable food and the protection of the seas. International guests such as Johanna Maggy and Anahita Babaei shared their experiences and insights as ocean defenders and activists.

Special attention was also dedicated to children, with creative workshops ranging from origami to sound experiences with cetaceans, organized in collaboration with the Civic Aquarium of Milan, Sea Shepherd, Menkab, and Origamate.

A special thank you goes out to all the speakers, partners, and participants who made this fourth edition unforgettable.

We are already working on next year’s edition—with new ideas, new energy, and one shared goal: to keep giving a voice to the ocean.
