The first edition of Ocean Bar has successfully concluded with strong participation. The format, conceived by One Ocean Foundation in collaboration with Ultramarino Bar, was created with the aim of bringing the public closer to ocean conservation through an immersive and accessible experience.
From May 13 to 16, the initiative transformed the traditional aperitivo moment into an opportunity for awareness and engagement, bringing the sea into the heart of Milan through flavours, culture, and sustainability. Ocean Bar stands as a concrete example of how experiential activations and shared social moments can help spread greater awareness of the importance of protecting marine ecosystems, making these topics part of people’s everyday lives.
At the core of the experience was a menu developed in collaboration with KelpEat, an Italian startup focused on bringing seaweed into contemporary cuisine, featuring innovative dishes that highlight the potential of sustainable ingredients and promote more conscious food systems.
The project was further enriched by the contribution of artist Andrea Crespi, who brought a shark-themed triptych into Ultramarino’s spaces as a visual homage to the marine world.
With this first edition, Ocean Bar launches a format designed to grow over time, continuing to build connections between people, cities, art, and the ocean, while fostering a more engaged and shared ocean culture.
