In conjunction with the brand’s 170th anniversary, Mattsons Beds, a Swedish company with a leading role in the manufacture of premium beds and mattresses, joins the network of One Ocean Foundation’s partner companies, upholding projects for the protection of the ocean, as well as the ethical principles of the Foundation to increase the sensibility towards environmental protection.
The company, in the front line for the safeguarding and respect of the environment since the very beginning back in 1851, adopts craft techniques and uses FSC certified natural materials for ethically conscious and responsible production. The company pays great attention to the environmental impact of the products and the full manufacturing process.
“We proudly support the mission of the Foundation to accelerate solutions to ocean issues by inspiring international leaders, institutions, companies and people; promoting a more sustainable economy and enhancing ocean knowledge through ocean literacy” said Oscar Mattson, vice president and representing the sixth generation of the Mattson’s family.
This partnership has inspired the Swedish company, who has their headquarters in the coastal town of Falkenberg, to produce a limited-edition series of handmade beds, the collection has been named Ocean Beds by Mattsons. To produce these special beds, Mattsons are using a special fabric, which is to 100% produced by recycled plastic bottles gathered from our seas and oceans. With the aim of increasing the general attention to plastic pollution in the seas the collection will be introduced in line with and consistent with the mission of One Ocean Foundation, which has always encouraged collaborations for the preservation of marine ecosystems. The Ocean Beds will be available in Ocean Green and Ocean blue at the Mattsons Beds showrooms as of the middle of June.
