The awards ceremony took place during a gala evening at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa and saw the reigning Olympic and world champion in Mixed Multihull, Caterina Banti, clinching the title for the sixth time alongside her helmsman Ruggero Tita. One Ocean Foundation equally congratulates Caterina and Ambrogio for their victories at sea and for their valuable activities in its protection.

At the eponymous Sailor of the Year award organized by the specialized media Giornale delle Vela, two projects involving One Ocean Foundation were awarded: the scientific monitoring project of the Mediterranean M.A.R.E. conducted with the Centro Velico Caprera and The Gran Sailing Tour by Franco Deganutti and Manuel Vlacich, who carry out their sailing ventures under the banner of sustainability. After traversing the underground lake of St. Leonard in the Swiss Alps, the largest in Europe, they are preparing to circumnavigate the icebergs of Greenland aboard the small sail-powered inflatable boats Tiwal.
