As Sustainability Partner of the event, One Ocean Foundation promoted several initiatives during the European Dream Cup that is taking place at the Circolo Vela Gargnano, the international event dedicated to young students from across Europe. The 60 young sailors come from 10 different EU nations 10 and are aged between 13 and 19. The project, strongly supported by the European Commission and Erasmus+ Sport, focuses on sports and education with the aim of raising awareness among students about sustainability, inclusion and digitalization through dedicated lectures that complement the sports competition on the foiling 69F boats.

In addition to the physical training on and offshore, all the participating teams were involved in a Beach clean-up activity on the morning of July 4 the One Ocean Foundation team. In line with "Plastic Free July," a global movement that originated in Australia and encourages millions of people worldwide to make conscious choices to reduce their impact on the environment every July, the lecture focused on the issue of plastic and microplastic pollution. The Hungarian team won the first place followed by the Italians and the German. This ranking will be integrated with the sailing scores to determine the final winner.

On the morning of July 5th, the One Ocean Foundation bioogists lectured the young sailors on the importance of the oceans and the consequences it faces due to climate change and human activities and presented the innovative projects of the Foundation focusing on the initiatives activated with the Denmark SailGP Team presented by ROCKWOOL. At the end of the talk, the students were invited to respond to multiple-choice quiz through the Kahoot app installed on their smartphones. These responses also contribute to the final ranking of the European Dream Cup.
